Use a mud mask on the face once or twice a week, for 8-10 minutes each time. Apply the mud warm, at 37-38 °C, in a layer 2-4 mm thick. These figures are for our freshwater green mud from the jar. The 100 g mask has its own timing on the label.
Hands, feet and scalp take longer than the face, and the feet take longest of all.

How warm is too warm?
Do not apply mud hotter than 38-40 °C, as it can burn the skin. You can apply it cold as well, but that is not very pleasant. Shake the jar before use, and warm the mud in a water bath to 37-38 °C. At that temperature it is neither cold nor too hot.
Can you leave it on for longer?
On oily skin, mud from the jar stays on for 10-15 minutes. For the Freshwater Green Mud Face Mask, 100 g, the layer is also 2-4 mm, but its label gives 8-12 minutes. The general instructions for the mud apply to the mask as well, with the timing taken from its label.
How to put it on and take it off
Wash your face with a cleansing foam before the mud goes on. Rinse the mud off with cool water and follow with a cream for your skin type.
On the hands, spread a thinner layer, 1-2 mm, over the palms and fingers. Use it on the feet once or twice a week, in the evening, and rinse it off with warm water, then with cool water. For the hair, massage the mud gently into the scalp and rinse it out with warm water.
The jar label says: keep away from direct sunlight, for external use only, and keep out of the reach of children.
A jar or the mask?
The mud in the jars and the mask share one formulation. In 2023 the formulation was patch-tested in a laboratory in Poland on volunteers without allergies, under a dermatologist’s supervision, and no irritation was found.
The mud comes in 500 g and 1 kg jars, and as a 100 g mask. Mud from the jars goes on the face, hands, feet and hair, and the mask’s label gives instructions for the face.
